for her sleepless nights
Dad’s out of town most of the time
Her mother drowns herself in work so she doesn’t have to think about her life
She has a brother who is busy with his own mind
And a sister who she tells everything she keeps inside
She has her cut shot and an indie style
Her parents thinks she’s going through a phase
Soon she will be alright
They say she will grow up eventually but don’t realise
That she aged while they were busy with their own fights
They stopped learning from their mistakes
And she started cooking, cleaning and did everything a girl couldn’t do at her age
She had a smile which was full of pain
She slept crying all alone thinking of what could have been
But soon she’ll be 18 and think about what might be
Will she turn back from this world of confined means
She doesn’t know if she will ever be alright
But maybe she will get away and that is the only thought that let’s her sleep at night
